 Welcome to Homer,
Alaska,where the land ends and the sea begins. The first thing you will notice about the Shore Side Guesthouse is the awesome setting among mature spruce trees with unobstructed views of Kachemak Bay and the glaciers and mountains beyond. Next, you will notice how comfortable your completely outfitted cabin is. The Shore Side is a convenient three miles from downtown Homer and offers direct access to the beach. Be sure to bring your binoculars! Be ready to watch the passing otters, seals, eagles and many sea and shore birds not to mention the ebb and flow of the tide.
The Shore Side Guesthouse is a self sufficient cabin , clean and cozy, and accommodates up to four persons. It has a king bed and two twins; a daybed with trundle. There is a complete bathroom with shower; towels and linens are provided. The kitchen is completely furnished and an outdoor barbeque is at your disposal. There is cable TV, microwave and a refrigerator. It is an ideal place for families and also has limited handicap access. Daily maid service is not provided. Clean linens will be provided on the fourth day for extended stays. Sorry, we do not accommodate pets. Plan to roast marshmallows on the beach or in the fire pit on the front lawn. Smoking is not allowed in the cabin.

Kachemak Bay has year-round appeal. Sunrises and moon rises are amazing from the guesthouse and birds are active all year with the changing migrations. Sandhill cranes return in the summer and eagles roost in a tree on the property. In the winter the otters are more abundant and moose wander through the yard. You have easy access to charter boats for fishing year round and water taxis to explore the opposite side of the Bay. Rent a bike or kayak or just enjoy walking the Spit Trail or on the many beaches.
